WHERE:
Just 50 minutes away in the fields of Carnation, Camp Gilead offers relief from our bustling city, yet isn’t too much of a trek to get to. We loved it so much last year that we decided to return again.

WHAT:  When Beloved “retreats,” we like lots of free time, and the grounds at Camp Gilead offer great space for that:   from mini golf to canoeing in their mini lake, from playing on their playground to tether ball and hay rides, from games & puzzles in the lodge to talking over coffee & napping or reading in the sun… Check out their website if you want to know more:  www.campgilead.org.     Some pix from last year:

NOUWEN’S LIFE OF THE BELOVED:  This year, we’ll also gather after each of our 4 meals to spend a little time reflecting on the 4 main themes from Henri Nouwen’s Life of the Beloved, a foundational book for Beloved when we were forming 9 years ago.  Taken. Broken. Blessed. Given. ~ Four of our community’s guiding principles and the four aspects of the ancient pattern of Christian worship. We’ve got some creative ways to discuss & dig deeper together.  (And if you’re feeling adventurous, feel free to read the book beforehand or bring it with you. Although not reading it will certainly not inhibit your ability to engage!)  Click here for link to the book on amazon.

During these sessions, we’ll take turns with the kids, playing games & doing crafts. We’d love to have 2 adults per session. If you’re willing to help during one of the sessions, please email LauraLeighLamb@me.com
