Children & Family Ministry Coordinator

Karen Kirkman karen@belovedschurch.org

As Beloved seeks to minister more intentionally to children and families, we have hired Karen for this new position as of October 1, 2014!  A word from Karen:

Having the most important job in the world – partnering with children and families on a church staff – is something I never imagined doing, but God’s ways are greater than ours.  Originally an Air Force brat born in England, my family ended up in Seattle in 1970 which I believe qualifies me as a local, homegrown, native, web-toed Seattleite!  I began a 25 year career working in countless downtown offices when I was only 12 years old (thanks Dad) which included a business degree from Whitworth in Spokane.  I was called to children’s ministry 15 years ago by Calvin Presbyterian Church in Shoreline where I still serve ½ time.  I’m married to Paul who works at Boeing and we have two beautiful, “grown” (18/Sophie and 21/Lena) daughters.  My “spare time” is spent with family, reading, a little flower gardening, and house training our new puppy, Lily.  I’m excited to get to know the children and families at Church of the Beloved and hear where you see God working in your lives and how we can come alongside you in that.  Seeing Christ in the face of each child is the most satisfying thing I can imagine.
