<description>Called out of our isolation and into community, fumbling into God's grace, daring to listen deeply to the Spirit and each other, and freed by Christ to work, rest, dream, and play in God's kingdom, mysteriously engaging with the Trinity in healing the world.</description>

<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">We’re going to read psalm 145, which is a prayer to God, who is the King of ALL creation.  And when we read this, I want you to imagine that we are at a big fancy celebration. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> <em>Have any of you been to a big fancy celebration?  Like a wedding? or a graduation?  Or a parade? (allow kids to offer things they’ve been to)</em></span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6; min-height: 15.0px;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">The celebration that we are imagining is the crowning of a king &#8211; King Jesus! </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">Let’s use our imaginations now to see Jesus on a throne. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><em> What do you imagine the throne to look like? (wait for kids to answer)</em></span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6; min-height: 15.0px;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">And there’s a huge crowd there, we are there along with everyone else in the world, a huge party to celebrate Jesus as a peaceful King of all the world! </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> <em>How many people do you imagine are there?  (wait for kids to answer)</em></span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><em> Who do you imagine is there?  (wait for kids to answer)</em></span></p>

<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">Now imagine that someone stands up to give a speech to say how much we like having God as our king&#8230; and this is what they say:</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6; min-height: 15.0px;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><strong> </strong></span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><strong>Psalm 145</strong></span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">O God, you are my King! and I&#8217;ll thank you forever and ever!</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">I&#8217;ll thank you every day, and keep it up from now to eternity. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">God you are magnificent; you can never be praised enough. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">There are no boundaries to how great you are. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">Even our children’s children will be amazed by what you do; </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">each generation tells stories of your courageous acts. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">Everyone is talking about your beauty and wonderful things you do; </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">It’s sung about in songs and written in headline news; </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">You are famous all over the world for being good and for being fair. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">This is what your kingdom is based on<br />
and it will last for ever; you never get voted out of office.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6; min-height: 15.0px;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">Because you, the King, always do what you say you will do<br />
and everything you do is always full of grace.<br />
Because you, the King, always help those down on their luck,<br />
and you give a fresh start to those ready to quit.<br />
Because you, the King, provide for all your subjects,</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">all of creation gets what they need from you.<br />
So let’s give God the King the credit!</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">Now and always, here’s to God!  Hooray!</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6; min-height: 15.0px;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"> </span></p>

<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">The person who wrote this speech gets really excited when they look at the way God leads the world in peace, and provides food for all creation, and acts really fair with everyone, but is also really kind and forgiving.</span></p>

<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">We are going to join all of our ideas into a new speech to celebrate God as our King.  You shout them out and I’ll write them down and then we’ll arrange everyone’s ideas into a big prayer-speech to celebrate King Jesus.</span></p>

<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;"><br />

<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana; color: #1303c6;">**The prayer that the children create can become the Prayer of Great Thanksgiving for the Eucharist later in the service when the children join the adults around the table.</p>
