story

We all have a story.

Once upon a time…

It was a dark and stormy night…

In the beginning God…

From the dawn of time, stories have held a primal, hypnotic power to stir us. We identify with stories, are caught up in stories, and pass stories along to future generations. Stories often captivate and dismay, surprise and delight us, fill us with sadness and laughter. They help us relate and better understand this glorious mystery we call the human experience.

We believe that God is writing a story, too. And that our human history contains that unfolding plot. We are co-authors, capable of changing details of the storyline or shifting the narrative in ways both big and small.

We want to write the best story possible as a community and see the world (and ourselves) for all the beauty and tragedy therein. The good news continues to be written and we seek to tell this story again in again in fresh and thought-provoking ways.

At Church of the Beloved we swap stories through music and art, through community and hospitality, through liturgy, presence, and sharing.
