Vday Aftermath = 1k Aftercare
Church of the Beloved likes to throw parties… some parties help us ‘forget’, while other parties help us ‘remember’… Last night we had a house party at Rosewood Manor called “Happy V-Day World” – and the party benefited the International Justice Mission. We enjoyed the live music of Jubilee while snacking appetizers, chocolates and wine. Ten Thousand Villages had a large display of V-day gifts made by artisans who were taught a craft and given employment after being rescued from trafficking. Mike McGill from the organization Just Children shared stories of going undercover in Cambodia to help free human slaves.
And by the end of the night we raised over 1k… well over the $750 needed to provide aftercare for two survivors of the sex trafficking industry! On a holiday where lovers exchange million’s of dollars worth of gifts, I’m glad we can send this one little gift back to the world.
